Argonne Labs added to the site

The Argonne National Laboratory Fire Department has recently been incorporated into MABAS Division 10, expanding the region's emergency response network. Located just outside of Chicago, Argonne is one of the largest U.S. Department of Energy laboratories, dedicated to tackling critical challenges in energy, environment, and national security through cutting-edge research. The fire department consists of 25 full-time personnel who operate a variety of specialized units, including two ambulances, two fire engines, a heavy rescue squad, a brush unit, the MABAS Division 10 Decontamination Unit, and a battalion chief vehicle. All fire apparatus are manufactured by E-ONE, while the ambulances come from Wheeled Coach. A new ambulance is currently on order and will be assigned as Ambulance 114, ensuring continued high-quality emergency medical services. The Decon Unit, which plays a vital role in hazardous material incidents, recently underwent a major upgrade. Its exterior was repainted and rebranded, and the interior received new mechanical systems, including a state-of-the-art generator. The unit is maintained by Argonne staff and deployed when needed for incident response. A recent photo shows the Argonne Fire Station, capturing the facility that houses these essential emergency services. Another image highlights the department’s rescue squad, showcasing their readiness and professionalism. These images give a glimpse into the daily operations and commitment of the Argonne Fire Department, which continues to serve both the laboratory and the broader community with excellence.
