This recall is due to the combination of dusty conditions and long-term low-speed driving, the steering gear dust cover may be blocked; at the same time, long-term low-speed driving makes the dust cover continuously exposed to high engine compartment temperature, which may cause defense. The dust cover is distorted and deforms internally with the tie rod, which causes damage and allows contaminants to enter the steering gear. In this case, abnormal noise may occur during steering, or steering assist may be reduced. In some cases, it may cause the steering assistance to fail and pose a safety hazard.
In this regard, Ford will check the dust cover of the vehicle within the scope of the recall, and replace the parts with the existing problem according to the inspection results to eliminate the defects. Stock vehicles will be sold after the elimination of hidden dangers.
