The Dongfeng Team announced for the first time 4 crew members under 30 years of age including 3 Chinese crew members

On behalf of China, the Dongfeng Team participating in the Volvo Ocean Race in the 2017-2018 season announced on April 19 that four crew members under the age of 30 would join the fleet. Of the four crew members, three are from China and one is from Australia. They are Yang Jiru (26 years old), Chen Jinhao (25 years old), Liu Xue (24 years old) and Jack Boytel (26 years old). Among them, Yang Jiru and Chen Jinhao officially debuted at the Dongfeng Motor Company's booth at the Shanghai International Auto Show on April 19. This is also the first time that they have met the public in China since they were selected for the Dongfeng team.

The Volvo Ocean Race has a long history. It is the world's top sailing event, with more than one billion television viewers, more than 4,000 registered reporters and millions of tourists. It is an ideal platform for global brand communication and business activities.

Following the 2014-2015 season, Dongfeng Motor Company once again became the exclusive "Dongfeng" regatta and formed the "Dongfeng Team" to compete in the new season's Volvo Ocean Race. In the previous season, the Dongfeng team was the only Chinese company titled team and achieved good results from the third place. He has trained a group of outstanding talents for China’s ocean-going maritime sports and actively promoted the development of China’s ocean-going maritime sports.

Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. builds an internationalized Dongfeng that faces the world as a long-term development strategy. The new season's new Volvo Ocean Race rules stipulate that there will be 11 stages in the new season starting from Alicante in October of this year with a total length of 45,000 nautical miles. Each fleet must have at least 2 crew members under the age of 30, 1- 2 women crew members.

The three young Chinese crew members who participated in the last Volvo Ocean Race once again returned to the Dongfeng team sponsored by Dongfeng Motor Corporation. Yang Jiru and Liu Xue continue to serve as middle cabin keyboards, and Chen Jinhao continues to serve as the fore decker.
