Langh and MAN develop EGR system water treatment technology

Langh Technologies recently worked closely with the Mann (ship hangar) diesel engine (purchasing supply) to Turbo, marking the company's expansion of its water treatment technology into new areas.

It is reported that Langh Technologies has developed a water treatment system for cleaning water produced during the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system. During the exhaust gas recirculation process, approximately one-third of the exhaust gas is recycled back to the engine (purchased from the product library), first using a small scrubber to remove solid particles from the return gas and performing a continuous cleaning wash.

This water treatment is based on a membrane filtration technology, which means that the operating costs can be very low and the waste contains only a small amount of dry sludge.

The first test of the technology was carried out in Copenhagen, Denmark in December 2015, using a small prototype. Since then, the technical system has been optimized until it has been approved by Mann and used in combination with the exhaust gas recirculation system.
