MABAS 90-90 Drill yesterday

MABAS-IL, in collaboration with the IAFC and DHS, recently conducted a multi-state MABAS response drill aimed at testing the coordination and rapid deployment capabilities of emergency services across the Chicago metropolitan area. The primary objective of the exercise was to assemble a minimum of 90 fire companies within 90 minutes at each of three designated reception sites: NIPSTA in Glenview, the Sears Center in Hoffman Estates, and the First Midwest Theater (formerly Tweeter) in Tinley Park. Each MABAS Task Force is composed of a structured team including: - 1 Chief - 1 Aid to the Chief - 3 Engines - 1 Truck - 1 Squad - 3 Ambulances (ALS or BLS, either private or municipal) The task forces deployed for the drill were organized by region: **North/NIPSTA:** 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 20, 29, 101, 102, 107, 109 **West/Sears:** 1, 2, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 30, 104 **South/Tinley:** 7, 15, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 207, 3501, 38/25 (two Illinois divisions combined) Notably, the 100-series divisions are from Wisconsin, the 200-series are from Indiana, and 3501 represents Michigan. Maps detailing the locations of these divisions can be found on the following websites: - [MABAS-IL Division Map](http://www.mabas-il.org/MabasDivisions/Pages/default.aspx) - [MABAS Wisconsin Map](http://www.mabaswisconsin.org/mabaswisconsinmap.html) One of the most significant moments of the drill occurred when Task Force 109 (City of Milwaukee) was staged alongside Task Force 9 (City of Chicago), marking the first time since the Great Chicago Fire that both departments had their apparatus working together at the same incident. This drill not only tested the efficiency of inter-agency cooperation but also highlighted the importance of preparedness in large-scale emergencies. The event was widely recognized as a major milestone in regional emergency management. *This summary was provided by Drew Smith, Deputy Chief, Prospect Heights Fire Department.* **The MABAS Press Release follows:** [Image: Press_release_08252010-1] [Image: Press_release_08252010-2] [Image: Press_release_08252010-3]

Hollow Anchor Bar

Hollow anchor bar means a rod that transfers the structures or geotechnical load to a stable rock formations, anchor bolt consists of rod, drill bit, coupling, plate, grouting stopper and nut. Widely used as an efficient anchoring means, in tunnel pre-support, slope, coast, mine, water conservancy projects, building foundation, roadbed reinforcement and geological diseases treatment such as landslip, crack, sink age. It`s irreplaceable in narrow construction environment. Hollow anchor bar is made of seamless tube with high strength.

Advantages and Characteristics :

1.No casings required, because anchor bars can be drilled into loose soils without needing casings to support the boreholes.

2.Fast drilling and installation, because drilling, installation and grouting are in a single operation.

3.Both rope threads and trapezoid threads are robust and ideal for rotary-percussive drilling and ensuring a high level of bond with the borehole gout.

4.The hollow core not only serves for flushing during drilling, but also for grouting after drilling.

5.Continuous threads ensure the bars can be cut and coupled at any point, or extended.

6.Different anchor bits are available for different ground conditions.

7.Duplex anti-crossin process, hot-dip galvanized and epoxy coating system.
