Flyability invited to share best practices with foreign drone startups that want to work in the U.S.

June 7, 2021 – This week, Flyability’s leadership team is set to take the stage at the 2021 SelectUSA Investment Summit, sharing valuable insights on how foreign startups can successfully enter the U.S. market and how to build a thriving drone business in the United States.

SelectUSA is the leading organization dedicated to promoting foreign direct investment (FDI) in the U.S. It plays a key role in helping international startups navigate the American market and connect with other global companies looking to expand into the U.S. The summit serves as a platform for sharing knowledge, strategies, and success stories from entrepreneurs across the world.

This year’s event features over a dozen tracks covering topics such as global market dynamics, workforce development, and innovation. Flyability SA’s CEO, Patrick Thévoz, and Flyability Inc.’s VP of Sales, Alexandre Meldem, will be speaking in the Tech track, drawing from their firsthand experience in bringing Flyability’s indoor Elios drones to the U.S. market.

“We’re truly honored to be part of the 2021 SelectUSA Investment Summit,” said Patrick Thévoz, CEO of Flyability. “Our goal has always been to bring safe, efficient, and innovative indoor drone solutions to U.S. customers, and we’ve seen real impact in terms of reducing inspection times and improving worker safety. I’m excited to share what we’ve learned so far to help other startups follow in our footsteps.”

Today, June 7, Patrick Thévoz will join a panel titled Startup Success Stories, where he’ll discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by foreign-based startups entering the U.S. market. The session will explore how these companies have adapted to the U.S. business environment and what lessons they can offer to others looking to make the same move.

Tomorrow, June 8, Alexandre Meldem will participate in a panel called Best Practices for Establishing Your Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Company in the U.S. This session will focus on the practical steps needed to launch and grow a drone company in the U.S., including navigating regulatory frameworks, building local partnerships, and overcoming common challenges.

Alexandre joined Flyability in early 2020 as the company’s first U.S.-based employee, playing a key role in opening Flyability’s Denver office. Since then, he has helped expand the company’s footprint in major industries like Oil & Gas and Power Generation, while also supporting the adoption of indoor drones in emerging sectors such as Wastewater Management, Mining, and Food & Beverage.

“After working in Switzerland for over a year, I was thrilled to help establish Flyability’s presence in North America at the start of 2020,” said Alexandre Meldem, VP of Sales at Flyability Inc. “Now, after more than a year and a half in the U.S., I’m eager to share what I’ve learned about successfully launching and growing a foreign drone startup in this market.”
