Darien-Woodridge Fire District patchThe Darien-Woodridge Fire Protection District is a key part of MABAS Division 10, operating from three fire stations. With a long history, this department has been using E-ONE equipment for many years. Today, they are equipped with one E-ONE quint, three E-ONE engines, and two E-ONE ambulances. Over the past decade, the department has gradually transitioned from its original lime green color scheme with white roofs to a more traditional red color. Only two of their older vehicles still retain the original look.

Their jurisdiction covers parts of Darien and Woodridge, along with unincorporated areas of Downers Grove and portions of Westmont. The department operates with a mix of full-time and part-time firefighters. In 2009 alone, they responded to over 2,450 emergency calls, showcasing their active role in the community. This level of service highlights their dedication and strong presence in the region.

Station 1 in Darien-Woodridge also serves as the headquarters for the Southwest United Fire Districts Fire Training Academy. This academy plays an essential role in training new firefighters and maintaining high standards within the district. In addition to the main station, the academy operates its own fleet of training vehicles, supporting ongoing education and preparedness efforts.
