Darien-Woodridge Fire District patchThe Darien-Woodridge Fire Protection District is a key part of MABAS Division 10, operating three fire stations across the region. With a long-standing tradition, this department has been using E-ONE apparatus for many years. Today, they maintain an E-ONE quint, three E-ONE engines, and two E-ONE ambulances. Over the past decade, the department has gradually transitioned from its original lime green color scheme with white roofs to a more traditional red. Only two vehicles still retain their original look, serving as a nostalgic reminder of the district's history.

Their jurisdiction covers parts of Darien and Woodridge, along with unincorporated areas of Downers Grove and portions of Westmont. The department relies on a mix of full-time and part-time firefighters, and in 2009 alone, they responded to over 2,450 emergency calls. This level of activity highlights the critical role the department plays in the community.

Station 1 in Darien-Woodridge is not only the headquarters but also houses the Southwest United Fire Districts Fire Training Academy. This academy provides essential training for local firefighters and operates its own fleet of training rigs, further supporting the region’s emergency response capabilities.
