Beijing's Asian Games Village New Car City Completed in May

The relocation of the Beijing Asian Games Village Auto Trading Market has recently made headlines. The new location, situated in Dongsanqi, Changping District, is currently under construction and is expected to have its main building completed by May. Although the exact date for the market's relocation hasn't been officially announced, it is confirmed that the entire process will be completed within this year. Since its establishment in 1995, the Beijing Asian Games Village Auto Trading Market has been located on the southern side of the bustling Asian Games Village business district. Covering an area of over 70,000 square meters, it has long held a significant share of the Beijing auto market—around 30%. This has earned it the reputation of being the "barometer" of the car industry. After eight years of growth, Ya City now hosts more than 160 dealers offering both imported and domestically produced vehicles, providing consumers with a one-stop solution for all car-related procedures. As part of the overall plan for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the current site of the Asian Games Village was requisitioned for the construction of Olympic venues. As a result, the market will relocate to a new site on the north side of Tiantongyuan Residential Community and the east side of Litang Road. This location is also near Dongsanqi, the upcoming terminal station of Metro Line 5. The new site will span 300 acres, significantly expanding the market’s footprint. Building upon its existing functions, the new market will introduce additional services such as car beauty and decoration areas, professional test ride zones, expanded auto parts and used car markets, pre-sales training programs, and a variety of cultural activities like driving simulations, car beauty lectures, and themed events. According to Su Hui, the general manager of the Asian Games Village, the market will no longer just serve car buyers but aim to cultivate public interest in cars and foster a deeper passion for automobiles. Asia will become a hub for car enthusiasts. The investment promotion efforts for the new market are progressing steadily. It is reported that most of the auto dealers from the old Ya City will relocate along with the market to the north. Additionally, the newly added auto parts and used car markets have already begun formal investment promotions, signaling a promising future for the relocated market.
