The domestic high-efficient motor has a market potential of 100 billion yuan.

China has maintained the status of the world’s largest exporter of electromechanical products for five consecutive years. In 2013, China’s total import and export of mechanical and electrical products exceeded US$2 trillion, reaching US$2.1 trillion, and for the fourth consecutive year it became the world’s largest trading country for electromechanical products, an increase of 290 times compared to 1980. Among them, exports increased from 1.56 billion U.S. dollars to 1.26 trillion U.S. dollars, accounting for an increase in the proportion of goods trade exports from 8.6% to 57.0%.

In recent years, China's high-efficiency motors have a market of 100 billion U.S. dollars. Although China's research and development in high-efficiency motors have basically kept pace with international standards and technological progress is very optimistic, unfortunately, China's production of IE3 motors has been used too little domestically, and most of them are used for exports. . It is not difficult to see that China still has enormous challenges in terms of high-efficiency motors.

As we all know, the motor power consumption in the industrial sector accounts for about 75% of the total industrial power consumption. Therefore, the energy saving of the motor has become the key to industrial energy conservation. With the dual pressures of energy conservation, emission reduction and environmental protection, energy-saving equipment represented by high-efficiency motors has attracted much attention in the market.

The high-efficiency motor refers to a universal standard motor with high efficiency motor. High-efficiency motors use new motor designs, new processes, and new materials to improve output efficiency by reducing the loss of electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical energy. Compared with standard motors, the energy-saving effect of using high-efficiency motors is very obvious, and the efficiency can be increased by an average of 4%.

As early as 2008, China put the energy conservation of the motor system into one of the top ten energy-saving projects of the country. In 2009, it also included the application of high-efficiency and ultra-high-efficiency motors into the Huimin project. At the beginning of last year, the National Motor Energy Efficiency Improvement Plan was issued. The plan mentions that China will upgrade its motor products in 2015. 50% of low-voltage three-phase cage asynchronous motors and 40% of high-voltage motor products will be highly efficient. Motor energy efficiency standards and regulations; accumulatively promoted high-efficiency motors to 170 million kilowatts, eliminated 160 million kilowatts of inefficient motors, and implemented 100 million kilowatts of energy-saving technological transformation of motor systems, and eliminated 20 million kilowatts of highly efficient remanufactured motors.

In other words, it is expected to achieve 80 billion kwh electricity savings in 2015, equivalent to energy saving of 26 million tons of standard coal and 68 million tons of carbon dioxide emission reduction. The Energy Saving and Comprehensive Utilization Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced that it will formally implement a nationwide energy efficiency improvement plan for the motor. The plan is to use three years to upgrade the energy efficiency of the country’s electrical machinery and promote the transformation and upgrading of the motor industry, including 30,000 per year that consumes more than 10 million kilowatt hours of electricity. Many industrial companies will be the focus of this plan. Based on this estimate, the implementation of this plan will drive the demand for high-efficiency motors and related equipment close to 100 billion yuan. In the future, with the promotion of the energy efficiency improvement plan, the market demand for high-efficiency motors will be gradually released, showing a situation of increasing year by year.

Increased energy saving subsidies for electrical motors has caused market impediments. The promotion of high-efficiency motors can be traced back to 2008. In 2008, China's energy-saving system was listed as one of the top ten energy-saving projects in the country. In 2009, the application of high-efficiency and ultra-high-efficiency motors was included in the Huimin project. A notice was issued on June 2, 2010, bringing high-efficiency motors into energy efficiency. The scope of product Huimin project implementation has made the promotion of high-efficiency motor market a concern.

From the perspective of motor power consumption, the motor energy-saving market seems to be popular among energy-saving service companies. Taking Zhongshan as an example, the two largest energy consumptions are respectively boiler (coal consumption) and industrial electricity. In industrial electricity consumption, the motor consumes more than 70% of electricity, including pumps, air compressors, fans, and equipment. Systems, etc., such as waste heat, lighting, transportation and other fields accounted for about 30%.

but it is not the truth. "A lot of people's business is focused on the 30% share, such as waste heat recovery, line transformation, etc." He Jun, who has been engaged in the energy conservation and environmental protection industry for many years, said that none of the 9 professional energy conservation service companies in Zhongshan are using the improvement of motor energy efficiency as a special item. To do so, only the transformation of inverters and servers is included in the entire energy-saving project, and the proportion of motor business is very small.

An energy-saving and environmental protection engineer in Zhongshan said that energy-saving companies need to be involved in the field of electric motors, and new power engineers must be deployed. After learning and training and experience accumulation, the effect will probably reach the end of the year. A long investment return period may affect the development of energy-saving companies. This is also a problem that companies need to face.

However, for energy-saving service companies, the biggest problem is that the motor market is difficult to develop, mainly due to the high price of high-efficiency motors. He Jun said that because of the relatively high technical threshold, the cost of high-efficiency motors is twice as high as that of ordinary motors, and energy-saving funds can only be subsidized by 50%. Others must be supplemented by increasing the amount of electricity saved by motor efficiency. "High-efficiency motors can improve motor efficiency by 5%-10%. For enterprises, the energy-saving effect is not obvious, and the attraction is probably not great." He Jun said with anxiety that "With the implementation of the policy, energy-saving funds must be affirmed. More energy will be favored to the motor, and some companies that do other energy-saving projects will be more reluctant to invest, but it is still difficult for them to open the motor market.

Zhou Sigang, deputy director of the China National Machinery Industry Federation’s major equipment office, once analyzed with the media that because end-users have low-cost demands on motors because of the increased cost of high-efficiency motors, it is particularly difficult to promote them.

In addition, there are few manufacturers of high-efficiency motors, which reduces the desire of enterprises to purchase. From August 2010 to December 2013, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission distributed the “Energy Saving Products Huimin Project” high-efficiency motor promotion catalogue into five categories. The latest promotion catalogue includes 90 companies, mostly in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. Provinces and cities, Guangdong Province, only Hepu Power Technology, Dongguan Electric, Jiangmen Jiangya Motor 3 companies short-listed.

Although the subsidies for high-efficiency motors are increasing, the promotion has been blocked for several years. This is where He Jun and other energy-saving people are more worried. He Jun said that the next step will be to contact the relevant motor companies as soon as possible, hoping to find ways to open the market. “In the short term, companies may first choose the motor system for retrofit, and the improvement of energy efficiency is obvious. However, in the long run, high-efficiency motors will be replaced.” He Jun predicted that “the most high-efficiency motor prices are now expected to come down, if energy subsidies The energy saved after the energy efficiency improvement can make up for the increased purchase price required to replace the motor, so that the motor modification business can be easily accepted by customers."
