Valeo wiper production plant completed in Wenzhou

France's Valeo Group, a supplier of automotive parts, said recently that the company's new wiper production plant in Wenling has been completed, including the completion of the Electronics Intelligence Center in Shenzhen.

Valeo said that by the end of this year, the new electronic technology center is expected to have a highly qualified team of more than 100 engineers, and in 2012 the number of engineers in the center is expected to reach 200 people. It is reported that the center will focus on providing electronic hardware development and service support for all Valeo Group entities. In addition, the center will also play an important role in the future development of electronic components for electric vehicles.

According to Valeo, the center will provide electronic engineering services, CAD (Computer Aided Design) layout engineering and supplier-level support for all Valeo products. In terms of hardware, the center is equipped with the most advanced hardware detection platform, heat treatment room and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing equipment.

Valeo also stated that its new plant in Wenling wiper system covers an area of 15,600 square meters and has about 800 employees. The new plant will replace the old factory opened in 1994. After the completion of the new factory of Wenling Wiper System, Valeo Group can produce more components for wiper cleaning systems for customers around the world and in China. The plant will complement the other wiper system plant in Valeo in Shanghai (in cooperation with SAIC SAIC).

Valeco Group CEO Jacques ASChenbroich said, “The completion of the two new factories further demonstrates Valeo’s strategic approach to accelerate the development of emerging markets, especially in China. In the next five years, we plan to double China’s sales. R&D activities are an important support for this goal. In the next five years, the number of engineers in China will increase from 1300 to 3,000 in 2010. Asia is one of Valeo's important markets and total sales in Asia accounted for 10% in 2010. With a global sales revenue of 19%, we expect that this ratio will increase to 30% in 2015."
