Volkswagen SEAT brand will release electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles

According to the Automotive News website, the SEAT brand of Volkswagen’s Spanish division recently stated that it will release its first pure electric vehicle and a plug-in hybrid vehicle in the near future.

SEAT pure electric vehicles will be modeled on Altea micro-surface, named Altea XL Electric Ecomotive, and is expected to be officially released in 2016. The car is mainly for home and fleet applications, with a spacious interior; its maximum speed of 135 km / hour, the maximum travel 135 km. The battery pack is located in the trunk under the rear seat to maximize the interior space of the cabin.

The plug-in hybrid is based on Leon's compact hatchback blueprint design, the name is Leon TwinDrive Ecomotive, will be released in 2015. The car uses a pure power mode to advance 52 kilometers and has a maximum speed of 120 kilometers/hour. When combined with a Gasoline Engine and an electric motor, the vehicle has a maximum speed of 170 km/h; fuel consumption is estimated to be 1.7 litres per 100 km and CO2 emission levels are 39 g/km.

SEAT said that it will provide a certain amount of Altea XL Electric Ecomotive and Leon TwinDrive Ecomotive in the future for testing by Spanish government agencies.

In 2012, SEAT will launch four new models, the most important of which is the Seat Mii Micro-Vehicle. The car and Volkswagen Up! Belongs to the sister model.
