Honeywell Names New Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Honeywell, the international diversified industrial giant, announced that the company has appointed Mike Long, 47, as vice president and chief information officer of the company. The appointment will take effect immediately. He will report to Honeywell’s chairman and chief executive, Dave Cote, and will work in Morristown, New Jersey, USA. Mike Lang recently served as vice president and chief information officer of Honeywell’s $15 billion Automation and Control Solutions (ACS) business. His predecessor, Bask Iyer, has left Honeywell for other job opportunities.

Goldwell said: "Mc Lang has 20 years of IT leadership experience and acquired a lot of system integration knowledge after ACS completed 20 acquisitions over the past 4 years, which has brought him a unique perspective on this position. He is an outstanding leader who has promoted progressive IT transformation programs that help drive efficiency, productivity, and profitability within ACS operations. He has a strong sense of customer service, self-awareness, and sensitivity. The business mindset, which makes him very suitable for the company's management team. Mike will continue to speed up the implementation of the functional transformation plan and increase production efficiency while simultaneously improving the company's IT functional department services and capabilities, I am quite confident."

Mike Lang will be responsible for deploying new technologies and core tools needed to promote Honeywell's business development and strengthen IT's position as an important business partner in the company. His responsibilities include increasing productivity and increasing the efficiency of corporate IT while protecting the company's vital information, intellectual property rights, and material resources. He will also lead the Honeywell IT Council, which will determine the direction and focus of the IT function.

Mike Lang was previously responsible for promoting progressive change initiatives within the ACS business, strategically guiding IT functions, and establishing good business partnerships in previous Honeywell positions. ACS is Honeywell's automation and control business, providing customers with solutions that bring productivity, comfort, safety and reliability in the industrial, retail and residential sectors. Prior to this position, Mike Lang served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Honeywell Building Solutions (HBS), a strategic business unit of ACS.

Prior to joining Honeywell, Mike Lang had held many leadership positions at General Electric (GE) and eventually served as the global chief technology officer for the insurance solutions business. Before joining GE in 1989, Mike Lang worked for Diebold, Inc. and Westfield Companies.
