· Toyota recalls 820,000 cars in China

According to CBS, a few days ago, Toyota Motor Corporation officially announced that it would cause a fatal accident due to the possible defects of Takada airbag gas generators. It will start recalling a total of about 5.8 million vehicles at home and abroad, including 820,000 vehicles involved in the Chinese market.

The company was informed that an accident had occurred recently, but the spokesperson did not know where the accident occurred. Toyota also said that it is not certain that the accident was caused by the rupture of the airbag gas generator.

In fact, this is just a small epitome of the unprecedented global car recalls caused by Takata's airbag defects. According to the data, by the beginning of October this year, 13 brands in the US market had recalled 31.56 million vehicles equipped with Takada airbags, of which 23.27 million were Japanese brand cars. In the global market, the number of vehicles recalled due to the Takata airbag problem is close to 50 million.

Airbag safety makes car companies recall frequently. In June this year, Dongfeng Honda announced that it had recalled 1.039 million vehicles since July 31. In September this year, Guangqi Honda announced that it recalled some vehicles of the Accord, Odyssey, Poetry, Fit, Fengfan, and Idea S1 due to airbag safety problems, recalling a total of nearly 1.824 million vehicles. Toyota China also filed a recall of some imported Lexus brand vehicles in September this year, with a total of about 143,000 vehicles. In addition, Japanese brands such as Nissan, Mazda and Subaru have released recall plans for airbag safety this year.
