Safety precautions for diesel generator sets

Diesel generator sets must be staffed by personnel familiar with the unit structure and mastering safety procedures. The new or recently overhauled diesel engine group shall be subjected to a 60-hour running-in operation as required and must be properly maintained.
Before a new or long-term unused generator is put into normal operation, it must undergo a rigorous inspection, mainly check the winding insulation, wiring conditions, etc. If there is any discrepancy, perform the necessary treatment.
After starting the diesel engine, the speed should be increased slowly. Under the premise of checking and confirming that everything is in good condition, the no-load operation with low speed to rated speed can be performed. During no-load operation, check the oil pressure, whether there is abnormal sound, excitation current, three-phase voltage changes, etc. If there is any abnormality, it should be stopped immediately. After checking the situation, start again. If everything is normal, you can put it into normal operation. The operator should closely monitor the change of the instrument on the control panel, whether it is in the scope of permission, and make corresponding adjustments.
When operating, operators should maintain a safe distance from live equipment and wear protective equipment. Switching operations should pay attention to the order of priority, such as the power should be disconnected before the branch switch, and then disconnect the main switch, and then switch the position of the four-pole double-throw switch. When power is supplied, the sequence is reversed. Normal shutdown should first remove some of the load, then cut off the main switch, and then turn off the diesel engine. It is forbidden to pull off the main switch and shut down the power of the diesel engine and shut itself down. After the shutdown, the crew was checked routinely and the operation status (working diary) was recorded.
In the event of an electric shock, the power switch must be turned off quickly or the insulation must be used to quickly disconnect or disconnect the power supply. Then rescue and ask the doctor to rescue the scene. In case of flooding with electrical equipment, the relevant power supply should be cut off immediately, and the local power supply station should be reported and firefighting should be carried out. Dry fire extinguishers, carbon dioxide fire extinguishers, etc. shall be used for fire protection of live equipment, and water shall not be used.
