China's wind power resources development "speed"

According to the latest report from a journalist on the 20th, China's leading wind power company, Guodian Longyuan Wind Power, has surpassed an installed capacity of 2 million kilowatts. This achievement places the company as the sixth-largest wind power producer globally. What stands out is that just three years ago, in 2005, the company had only 440,000 kilowatts of wind power capacity. In such a short time, it has grown exponentially, showcasing remarkable progress in renewable energy development. This rapid expansion reflects the broader acceleration of wind power growth in China. Over the past few years, the country has made significant strides in wind energy. By 2005, China’s total wind power capacity reached 1.26 million kilowatts, rising to 2.59 million kilowatts in 2006 and 6.05 million kilowatts in 2007—placing it fifth globally. According to Zhang Guobao, Director of the State Energy Administration, in the past year alone, China added 3.05 million kilowatts of new wind power capacity. Experts from the China Electric Power Enterprise Association predict that, given the current pace, China's total wind power capacity could surpass 10 million kilowatts by the end of this year. This growth not only highlights the nation’s commitment to clean energy but also signals a strong shift toward sustainable power solutions in the global energy landscape.
