Japan developed a new high corrosion resistant thick plate

JFE Steel Corporation of Japan has successfully developed a new type of high corrosion-resistant thick steel plate "JFE-SIP-BT". The development of such a steel plate has found an element that can suppress the deterioration of the coating film of the ship's ballast tank. The deterioration rate of the steel plate is about half of that of the original steel plate. This is the first time that the steel plate has been successfully launched in the global shipbuilding industry.

It is understood that the International Maritime Organization stipulates that the life of the ballast tank coating is 15 years, but after using this new type of high corrosion resistant thick steel plate, the coating life can be extended to 25 years, which will greatly reduce the cost of the hull life cycle. To enhance the safety of the hull and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. In addition, the welding and processing techniques of such a steel plate are the same as those of the original steel plate.

Welding Wires

Welding wires are consumable electrodes used in the process of welding. They are made of various materials, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and flux-cored wire. Welding wires are designed to melt and join two or more metal pieces together when an electric current passes through them. They come in different diameters and compositions to suit different welding applications. Welding wires can be used with different types of welding processes, including MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding, TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, and flux-cored arc welding
