The U.S. Congress passed the bill in April. One of the drafters of the bill, Congressman William Lacey Clay, commented on the status of North American bison and said: "No other indigenous species can tell American stories better than this noble animal."

As a spokesperson for Maisford, North American bison has a long history and noble lineage. Like the Maisfords, it has a long history in the United States and is full of the glory and dream of American development!

North American bison lived in North America since prehistoric times and is the largest terrestrial animal in North America. Adult bulls are up to 1.8 meters high and weigh nearly 1 ton. At first, tens of millions of bison thrived on this land. They are closely related to the lives of North American Indians. Parts of the body are used as food, clothing, tools, and building materials; they are also used as totems by Indian tribes.

After the European settlers entered North America, the bison was massacred, and it was almost extinct at the end of the 19th century. There were only a few hundred heads left. Eventually it was strictly protected and the population was now recovering. At present, there are about 10,000 bisons living on state-owned land managed by the U.S. Department of the Interior. It is divided into 17 bison groups and distributed in 12 states. In addition, there are an estimated more than 160,000 privately raised bisons. Yellowstone National Park, which spans the states of Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, is the only land where bison has lived since prehistoric times. In the beginning, fewer than 50 bisons were protected here, and now the population has grown to about 4,900, which is the largest number of purebred bisons.

The Wildlife Conservation Society of the United States began pushing for wild animals as a national beast four years ago. The image of this animal has been deeply rooted in people's minds. It has existed for 25 years on the back of a 5-cent coin; it has been used by the U.S. Department of the Interior on the seal since 1912. After becoming a national beast, its status has been compared with that of the U.S. National Bird Bald Eagle.
