At the strategy release conference, Zhang Xiaoyu, vice president of China Machinery Industry Federation, Kaohsiung, secretary of the Yulin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, Jin Xiangjun, mayor of Yulin, Feng Hsien, deputy general manager of Beijing Public Transport Corporation, Yang Baode, secretary general of China Construction Machinery Association, and chairman of Yuchai Together with Zhang Ping, the first domestic Euro IV diesel engine YC6L-40 was unveiled. Yuchai Chairman Yu Ping gave the Euro IV engine certificate to the Deputy General Manager of Beijing Public Transport Corporation Feng Xing, thus making this China's first Euro IV diesel engine with independent intellectual property rights settled in Beijing Public Transport Corporation.
Deputy General Manager Feng Hsiao of Beijing Public Transport Corporation expressed sincere gratitude for this. He said that in order to better meet the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and fully implement the concept of “Green Olympicsâ€, the Beijing public transport system has accelerated the pace of building “green busâ€. The Euro IV standard is the most demanding emission standard for diesel engines. Beijing's environmental protection and the promotion of the city's image are of great significance. Yuchai is currently the only company in China that can produce Euro IV diesel engines. Yuchai Group presented Euro IV standard YC6L engines to Beijing buses, making a great contribution to Beijing's “green busâ€.
Dr. Li Qin, Senior Technical Consultant of Yuchai Chairman, introduced the performance characteristics and adaptability of Euro IV products. YC6L-40 adopts electronically controlled injection technology and post-discharge treatment technology, which not only meets Euro IV standards, but also has good dynamic performance. With economy, it has the advantages of high power, low emission, low noise and high reliability, and is suitable for power demand such as luxury buses and city buses.
Yu Ping, chairman of Yuchai, said that with the rising international oil prices and increasingly prominent environmental issues, energy conservation and environmental protection have become global economic issues. In China, with the approach of the 2008 Beijing Green Olympics, the Chinese government and society are even more Focus on and pay attention to green development. Yuchai’s social responsibility and industry opportunities and challenges require Yuchai to launch “green powerâ€. In 2006, Yuchai took the lead in introducing the Yuchai YC6L series engine that meets the Euro IV standard to the domestic market, and will actively explore the “green power†market in various aspects.
Zhang Xiaoyu, vice chairman of the China Machinery Industry Federation, praised Yuchai's contribution in the field of China's internal combustion engine and hoped that Yuchai would continue to make new contributions to the national industry.
At present, Yuchai diesel engine has realized nine series of European-standard “European Power†series, which are up to standard Euro III, 6A and 6L horizontal machines, and 4W small-size car engines. This means that Yuchai has begun to compete with foreign manufacturers in the diesel passenger vehicle market, and it also marks that “green power†has become a new starting point for the Chinese automobile engine industry.
