Baling Petrochemical Company's Synthetic Rubber Business Unit uses butyllithium as a polymerization catalyst to produce SBS and other products. With the expansion of SBS equipment and the increase in technical content, the production technology of butyl lithium at the Ministry has also increased synchronously. The concentration of butyl lithium products has increased from 9% when it was put into operation in 1998 to 15%. On this basis, the ministry improved the quality of key factors such as butyl lithium concentration and purity, and completed nearly 10 transformations. The annual production capacity of the device has expanded from the original 100 tons to the current 200 tons, and the purity of butyl lithium has been completed. To 98%, the concentration increased to 24%.
While the butyl lithium products meet internal production, the Synthetic Rubber Division noticed that the products could meet the production needs of other domestic SBS devices and tried to export butyl lithium. In the second half of last year, the Ministry adjusted the product structure, worked hard in the field of resin applications, and transformed the old E-type resin devices that were phased out, making it a trinity of curing agents, E-type resins and specialty resins.
On the one hand, based on the properties and uses of epoxy resins, they are actively developing hardeners, thinners, and other auxiliary materials. The production of curing agents, thinners, and toughening agents is based on nine series of matching materials products; on the other hand, according to the user's Special requirements produce special materials to meet the needs of different users.
The division also set up a curing agent workshop to implement unified management of curing agents, tougheners, thinners, and specialty epoxy resins, and accelerate the pace of scientific research and application of auxiliary materials. They rationalized the process of by-product management and optimized operations, and successively developed dozens of users in the Central Plains, South China, and Northeast China. They also have the advantage of using technology to use scrap equipment to desaturate DD blends and other by-products to meet the needs of different users. The "changing face" of the product has increased the added value of the product. The selling price of the product has risen from a few hundred yuan per ton to more than 2,000 yuan and has become a hot commodity in the market.
