The new Bora 1.6L went down more than 10,000 in the old version of Skylight
The new Bora 1.6L model has recently been introduced, and it's now available at a price that is more than 10,000 yuan lower than the previous version. This price drop comes as part of a broader market adjustment following the release of the 2004 Bora models. According to reports, the old Bora has already seen a significant reduction in price, with some dealers even offering further discounts due to the manufacturer's reduced pricing strategy.
At the Asian Games Village Auto Market, the new Bora 1.6L was already on display, featuring a notable upgrade: a sunroof, which added around 6,000 yuan to its price compared to the older model. In addition, sales representatives mentioned that many Bora owners had complained about the cramped rear seating. To address this, the new Bora 1.8L model is approximately 7 cm longer than the previous version. However, the 1.8L variant is not yet available for purchase, and it's expected to hit the market in February or March. When it does, the price increase over the old model is likely to be less than 10,000 yuan.
According to several FAW-Volkswagen dealers, the price reductions on the older Bora models have made them highly attractive to buyers. For example, the 1.8L automatic model was originally priced at 182,000 yuan but is now down to 177,000 yuan—a reduction of 5,000 yuan. The 1.8T automatic version saw a drop from 210,000 to 208,800 yuan, a decrease of nearly 8,000 yuan. Meanwhile, the 1.6L automatic model dropped from 173,000 to 161,500 yuan, a reduction of 11,500 yuan. Other configurations of the old Bora have also experienced price cuts, making the used models an appealing option for budget-conscious buyers.
