Description:

The HOPSON Radial Repair Patches are thick, rubber-reinforced patches designed to be placed on the tire in any direction. Their unique compound and design allow them to flex and resist heat, ensuring a long-lasting and reliable repair. These patches are ideal for fixing punctures and nail holes in passenger tires.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Inspect the tire for repairability using the tire manufacturer’s guidelines or HOPSON LAB standards. If repairable, mark the injury with a crayon and carefully remove the object causing the damage.

2. Probe the injury to determine its size and direction, removing all debris and damaged material.

3. Select the appropriate repair patch based on the injury and tire type. Apply prebuff cleaner to the area and use a rubber scraper to remove dirt and mold lubricants. Use a carbide cutter to drill the injury channel three times from the inside and three times from the outside, ensuring that all damaged and rusted cables are removed, leaving only good rubber.

4. Apply chemical vulcanizing cement to the injury channel and install the corresponding vulcanizing insert. Trim it flush with the tire's inner liner. Mechanically buff the outlined repair area to a smooth, velvet-like texture. Remove the buffing dust with a clean brush or vacuum. Apply chemical vulcanizing cement to the buffed area, working it into the rubber and allowing it to dry thoroughly.

5. Remove the backing and center the repair patch over the injury, then stitch it down from the center outward to eliminate trapped air.

6. Finish the repair by applying inner liner sealer around the edge of the patch and over the buffed area.
